14th July

On Saturday 12th July, Wrekin Arts took part in the National Club Slide Championship at Warwick University. This was only the second time we had qualified for the finals.

A total of 31 clubs took part, representing every Federation affiliated to the PAGB (Photographic Alliance Of Great Britain). After 2 rounds of competition, the top 9 clubs contested the final and listed below are the final positions.

What a result!!! It also means that Wrekin Arts have already qualified for the 2009 finals.

To top the day off, Irene Froy won the Best Slide with “Race Leader” and Chris Lewis won Judge Bob Denis’ Medal with “Golden Mist”. A special thanks must go to Tony Thomas for co-ordinating our entry and to all those who submitted work.

 

I am looking for images that we can use in the FIAP 3rd World Championship for Clubs. Please look out your very best work and let me have a cd with your files on as soon as possible. Cd’s can be left for me at the club rooms. Below is the file size required by FIAP.

Files will be JPG 10 compressed, 300dpi, 2400 pixels minimum for the larger side in order to be printed for the exhibition

Two Wrekin members recently had work accepted in the PAGB Print Exhibition. Well done to Irene Froy (2 images) and Peter Rees (1 image).

23rd August

We are looking for your support next Saturday August 23rd at Wellington Unity Carnival. We have a pitch on the showground  at the Bowring Park, Haygate Road,Wellington and would be pleased to see you there.The  people manning the stand would be grateful for a little of your time even just to allow for toilet breaks,as we cannot leave the photographic display unmanned at any time. If you have any work that you would like to see displayed let Tony have it A.S.A.P Look forward to seeing you.
